UK Scholarships

There are many reasons why the UK is one of the top three destinations international students choose for their study abroad journey. Academic excellence, employment opportunities, and scholarships are just a few of the reasons that make the UK such a popular destination for international students.

Many UK institutions offer valuable international scholarships for undergraduate and graduate programs. Below you will find scholarships offered by Cardiff University, Swansea University, and the University of the West of England, with detailed information including scholarship amounts and eligibility requirements.

Cardiff University

Cardiff University

Located in Cardiff, Wales, Cardiff University offers more than 300 undergraduate and 200 postgraduate programs to its over 7,000 international students from 100+ countries. Cardiff–a member of the Russell Group–ranks in the top 20 universities in the UK for overall quality of research and impact according to REF 2021. The Graduate Outcomes Survey 2019/2020 concluded that Cardiff graduates had a 96% employability rate which makes Cardiff one of the UK’s most sought-after graduates.

Cardiff India Scholarships

The Cardiff University India Scholarships are open to all Indian students enrolling into a select number of postgraduate programmes. The scholarships are valued at £5,000 each.

The scholarship is eligible for the following programs:

Students must pay their deposit by July 31, 2022 and complete any conditions by the deadline date to be eligible.

Scholarship is automatic. There is no separate scholarship application required.

Swansea University

Swansea University

Founded in 1920 and located in Wales, Swansea University offers hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to its 20,000+ students. International students represent 20% of the student body population which aids in the diversity and community-feel of the institution. Swansea University–known for its teaching brilliance–received Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (2018) and a 5 star rating for teaching quality from the QS Stars global university rating system. Swansea also ranks 6th in the UK for course satisfaction according to the Guardian University Guide 2022.

International Excellence Scholarships (Africa)

Swansea University is offering International Excellence Scholarships for self-funded international students from Africa. The scholarship value ranges from £2,000 – £6,000.

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must hold an undergraduate offer to study at Swansea University.

The scholarship is available for the first year of study only.

Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in their academic performance to date and be able to show what they will achieve at Swansea University in their application.

A separate scholarship application is required.

University of the West of England

University of the West of England

The University of the West of England (UWE), located in Bristol, offers over 600 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional levels within the arts, creative industries, health, science, business, law, environment, and technology to its 4,000 international students. UWE’s popularity among international students stems from its teaching excellence, world-leading research, and graduate employability. UWE is ranked 36th out of 121 UK institutions according to the Guardian League Table 2022 and within the top 30 UK universities for graduate employability according to the Graduate Outcomes Survey.

Undergraduate Scholarships

The University of the West of England is offering undergraduate scholarships to international students from all countries outside the EU. Scholarship values vary.

Applicants will be eligible for consideration if the following criteria are met:

  • Must hold an unconditional offer or a conditional offer where IELTS or equivalent English language is the only condition from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
  • Must be a national of, and resident in a country outside of the EU.
  • Must not have previously studied in the UK.
  • Must be classed as overseas for fees purposes.
  • Must have provided the official transcripts at the time of application.
  • Must not be a sponsored student or in receipt of another scholarship/award.

A separate scholarship application is required via the UWE portal.
